The overall interest of HFTWI is holistic, covering both the spiritual, emotional and material well-being of the widows. The organization thus strives to serve as a template for empowering indigent widows and consequently establishing and making the poor and jobless ones among them become productive members of the society. For effective discharging of these passionate and timely responsibilities, we are carrying out the following empowerments/supports to widows irrespective of their background, tribe or religion;
1. Skill acquisition/Training in various crafts. HFTWI is pious to train widows in various skills such as tailoring, costumery, baking, soap making, oil production, poultry, fish and vegetable farming as well as other small scale trading.
2. Provision of soft Loans. Clients/ Widows who successfully complete training in skills acquisition are given soft loans to start off their own business. By this, HFTWI aims at turning the widows from spenders to earners. Also to help them discover their potentials and given them the right forms of mind for productivity.
3. Donation of equipment. Equipment like sewing machines, grinding machines, baking ovens, oil mill etc, are being provided to deserving widows to aid the take off of their businesses.
4. Food & Clothing materials. HFTWI makes provision of food items and clothing to widows in need to ease their family burdens, as some indigent widows and their children need clothing to cover their nakedness and keep warmth.
5. Moral Empowerment. The need for moral empowerment among today’s widows is very essential, so as to help them overcome their numerous challenges and obstacles. To this end, HFTWI is always working towards achieving this divine task anytime, anywhere.
6. Stipend. An immediate and temporal financial support to augment whatever the widows has until such a time when she has acquired the necessary skill or tread to feed for herself. This may be as big or small as possible.
7. Free Medical Services. HFTWI in conjunction with her volunteers, sponsor/partners always render free medical services to widows. This ranges from the treatment of tropical diseases to management of blood pressure, diabetes, H.I.V. and minor surgeries.
8. Widow’s Advocacy. The HFTWI serves as an advocacy group fighting against such ills and injustices. Widows who find themselves in such uncomfortable position of oppression and deprivation will be help to fight and regain what is rightly theirs.
9. A Skill Acquisition Center for widows. To meet up with the ‘National and International interest in Poverty Alleviation’ and to ensure a speedy and progressive performance, HFTWI is striving to put in place a conducive and befitting structure/building where widows will be freely trained on different skills and crafts to enable them start up their own businesses, thereby turning them from spenders to earners.
10. Scholarship. Children of the indigent widows are not left behind; those of school age are given scholarships. They are assured that their children will not be driven away from school because of non-payment of school fees.
